Linda Faith Ellington Martin

March 14, 1945 — March 5, 2025

Nebo, NC

Linda Faith Ellington Martin, born on March 14, 1945, in McDowell County, North Carolina, entered Heaven on March 5, 2025, at UNC Blue Ridge. She was a shining light in the lives of many—a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother. Linda's heart was pure and her spirit was generous; she lived life with a selflessness that deeply touched all who had the privilege to know her.

As a member of Pinnacle Baptist Church, Linda shared her love for music and community, serving faithfully as the pianist. Her musical contributions were a testament to her lifelong commitment to her faith and her family. She cherished her time at the church, where she not only played, but also built lasting friendships and connections that enriched her life.

Throughout her life, Linda demonstrated a boundless love and care for her family. She was a nurturing mother to her son, Neil Martin, and his wife Cindy. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Brooklyn Friesland and Makenna Martin. Her spirit will continue to watch over her great grandsons, Michael Perez, Jr. and Waylon Gomez, and her great granddaughter, Lilly Gomez, along with one great grandchild on the way. The love she poured into her family will echo through generations, a legacy that they will carry forward in their hearts. Linda also leaves behind her faithful dog and companion, Josie.

Linda was known for her kind nature; she never spoke ill of others and was continuously offering prayers for her loved ones and friends. Her kindness and compassion were felt by those around her, and her absence will be profoundly felt by her family. The love she gave so freely will remain a comforting memory in their hearts.

Linda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Dean Martin, whose memory she treasured. She is also survived by the deep absence left by her parents, George and Ruth Reynolds Ellington, and her brother, George Michael Ellington.

Her visitation will be held on March 8, 2025, at Pinnacle Baptist Church in Nebo, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service from 2:00 PM with the Rev. Mark Hollifield officiating the service. As friends and family gather to celebrate Linda's life, they will undoubtedly share stories of her unwavering love and commitment, remembering a woman whose life revolved around her family and who touched so many lives with her grace and kindness. Linda will be buried at Laural Hill Baptist Cemetery following the service.

Linda Faith Ellington Martin may have departed from this earthly realm, but her spirit will continue to resonate, a guiding force in the hearts of those she loved.
