Linda Joyce Johnson

Linda McKibben Johnson, age 77, passed away, Sunday January 3, 2021 at her residence. She was born on June 6, 1943 in Hornell NY to the late Elwin  Howard McKibben and Marie Tourner McKibben. Linda is preceded in death by a brother Joel McKibben.

A proud veteran of the US Navy Hospital Corp, she was a member of the USNTC Bainbridge WAVES. Linda was also a member of the Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church, American Legion and Marion Lions Club. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.

Linda is survived by her husband Douglas Grant Johnson; a daughter, Neva Johnson Galle (Stephen); a son, Joel Douglas Johnson (Natasha); two sisters, Dottie Smyder (Joe) and Jacqueline Widmer (Robert); four grandchildren, Jasmine, Sonya, Leah and Sara; two great-grandchildren, Jake and Emma.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church with the Reverends Stephen Wille, Josh Hayes and Ethan Hester officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery.
