Linda Gail Boyd Smith

Linda Gail Boyd Smith, 81, of Marion, entered her heavenly home on Thursday October, 26, 2023 having passed away at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville.

Linda was born in McDowell County on October 16, 1942 to Everette Boyd and Jessie Washburn Boyd who preceded her in death.

She attended Turkey Cove Baptist Church and Coxes Creek FWB Church. She was a Godly woman who was known for the love she had for her Lord and Savior. Linda enjoyed gospel singing and was famous for making her delicious yeast rolls and apple pies. She was affectionately called “Bluegranny” by her loving family.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her wonderful memories are her husband, Billy Ray Smith; three children, Marty Smith (Stephanie), Holly Smith (Craig) and Amanda Smith; a brother Van Boyd (Pat); a sister, Peggy Boyd Tipton (Bill); seven grandchildren, Zachary Smith (A.J.), Savannah Wilson (Dylan), Abby Calhoun, Alex Smith, Cole Calhoun, Austin Murdock and Ryan Murdock; five great grandchildren, Desi Kate Wilson, Kelsi Rae Lynn Wilson, Logan Joy Smith, Carson Murdock and Stella Murdock and many loved ones and friends.

Linda is preceded in death, along with her parents by her siblings, Joe Boyd (Devon), Paul Boyd (Margaret), Harold Boyd (Jean), Shirley Boyd Washburn (Onan) and Max Boyd (Elva).

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Turkey Cove Baptist Church with Rev. David Edwards and Rev. Junior Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 2:00 until 4:00 at the church. Burial will take place at Snow Hill Cemetery following the service.
