Linda Sue Burleson

Mrs. Linda Sue O’Dear Burleson, age 65 of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Carolinas Healthcare System Blue Ridge.

Born in McDowell County North Carolina, on June 01, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Mildred Whisenant.

 In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters Betty Weeks and Violet Neighbors, as well as a son Charles Christopher Burleson.

Linda was a faithful member of the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church. She loved the Lord very much along with her church family. She loved her job at McDowell Assisted Living where she often brightened the residence and staff’s day. Linda was known as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored and loved her family very much.

Linda is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Jim Burleson; one daughter April LaChea Parton (Eddie); one sister Shirley Wilson (Boyd); three brothers James Harvey (Sandra), Leon Harvey, Ken Finley (Donna); one granddaughter Britney Parton; one grandson Jonathan Parton; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday August 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends Ray Stockton and Billy Lail officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00- 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
