Lewis C. Tipton, Jr.

Lewis C. Tipton, Jr., age 78, of Marion, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center. He was born in Dickinson County, Virginia on February 5, 1943 to the late Lewis C. Tipton, Sr. and Gladys Stanley Tipton.

Lewis was a member of Grace Community Church. He was known as a hard-working man that was formally employed at H & B Lumber and Quality Stone. He enjoyed playing softball and was an avid golfer. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. Lewis was a North Carolina Tarheel and Washington Redskins fan. He always read his Bible daily and enjoyed going to church.

Left to cherish his memories are five children, Leisha Brown (Alan), Annette Tipton, Kelly Tipton Rose, Jayme Bowes (Brian) and Adam Beal; ten siblings, Bill Tipton (Peggy), Chalmer Tipton (Owana), Fred Tipton (Lisa), Jack Tipton (Kate), Jimmy Tipton (Brittany), Clifford Tipton (Vickie), Brad Tipton (Lisa), Peggy Benfield, Betty Shirlen (Dan) and Angie Walker (Dale). Also surviving Lewis are thirteen grandchildren, Amber, Courtney, Joanna, Gage, Samantha, Aiden, Heather, Kinsley, Zakayah, Preston, Silas, Emily and Caitlin; twelve great-grandchildren, Maddie, Elijah, Addy, Wade, Abel, Emersyn, Paisley, Jaxson, Jensen, Adalie, Graysen and Tinley; former wife, Glenna McCracken (Jack) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A special thank you to the staff of Mountain Ridge Wellness Center for the loving care they gave Lewis during his stay.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at McDowell Memorial Park with Reverend Jerry Lewis officiating.
