Leroy Johnathan McPeters

Leroy Johnathan McPeters, 87, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2024. 

Leroy was born in Yancey County on April 11, 1937 to the late Hubert McPeters and the late Ruby Smith McPeters. Leroy was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Autumn Causby; a brother, John Henry McPeters and one great granddaughter.

He was known as a hardworking man who was the owner/operator of McPeters Used Cars. Leroy enjoyed buying, selling and trading. He was also and avid NASCAR fan. He loved his family and will be missed by all. 

Surviving Leroy are his wife, Mae McPeters; three children, Ronnie McPeters (Shelia), Mike McPeters (Beverly) and Kim Norton (Dustin); sisters, Betty McKinney and Lucille “Pet” Rayfield; eight grandchildren, Grant McPeters, Christy McPeters, Jessica McPeters, April Frisbee, DJ Norton, Kaitlyn Payne (Hunter), Hunter Norton and Amandalyn Norton; and fourteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service on Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. A funeral service honoring Leroy will take place at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Burchett officiating. Burial will follow on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 10:00 am in Yancey County at the Dulaney Cemetery.
