Leon Banks

Leon Banks, age 74, of Black Mountain, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab in Black Mountain.  A native of Buncombe County, born July 29, 1944, he was the son of the late Grady and Virginia Morgan Banks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mable T. Banks, who passed away on September 13, 2018.

Leon, who enjoyed working with wood, was known to have had a green thumb.  He loved fishing and going camping, but most of all, he loved taking care of his wife, Mable. 

Left to cherish his memories are four children; one brother; two sisters; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Grove Stone Baptist Church, 1568 Grovestone Road, Black Mountain with Pastor Michael Long officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Sky View Memorial Park in Swannanoa.
