Lennie McKinney Greer

Lennie McKinney Greer, age 92, of Spruce Pine, NC went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 17, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Greer was born July 13, 1925 in Mitchell County, NC to the late Charlie G. McKinney and Ella Navy McKinney.  She was the former owner of the Skyline Hotel in Spruce Pine for 30+ years.  She enjoyed tending to her flowers and birds.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Greer; her son, Tommy Greer; one great-great grandson; one brother, Clyde McKinney; and five sisters, Naomi Amy, Maude Davis, Kate Buchanan, Panzie Absur and Shirley McKinney.

Left behind to cherish her memories are one daughter, Cecilia Jean Willis of Spruce Pine, NC; one brother, Mack McKinney of Yadkinville, NC; one grandson, Michael Willis of Morganton, NC; two great grandchildren, Heather Wyatt of Inman, SC and Jonathan Willis and wife, Jatanna of Morganton, NC; eight great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.  A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Dr.  Marcus Benfield, of Altapass Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
