Laurel Ann Young Stewart

Laurel Ann Young Stewart, 59, of Spruce Pine passed away on Monday, afternoon at Memorial Mission in Asheville. 

Laurel was born in Mecklenburg County on June 9, 1965 to her late mother and father, Thurman Young and Alice Arlene Ramsey Young. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Stewart. 

She was known as a loving mother, sister and grandmother who enjoyed having her family over and spending time with them. Keeping her grandkids one of the highlights of her life and filled her days with much joy. Laurel was an avid animal lover, especially her dog Scooter. 

Her loving memories will be cherished by children, Alicia Mahoney, Megan Young and John Mahoney; a sister, Denesa Lawson; a brother Mike Young and her six grandchildren

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
