Larry Gene Wiggins

Larry Gene Wiggins, 86, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Monday, May 02, 2022 at his home.

He was born in Swain County on October 04, 1935 to the late Bill Wiggins and Lillie Laws Wiggins. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Vanessa Olson.

Larry retired from Coats America after over 40 years of service as a maintenance mechanic and machinist and could fix anything. He truly enjoyed gardening, and he will be remembered as a very quiet and humble man. Larry loved his family and never lost his temper or even got close to doing so. He loved the Lord and attended Story Memorial Presbyterian Church until his health prevented him from doing so. He was very active in his church. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Jones Wiggins; two children, Mike Wiggins (Linda) and Veronica Wiggins; his granddaughter who was the light of his world, Autumn Wiggins Essick (Branden); his brother, Leonard Wiggins (Shirley); and one sister, Naomi Revis (Bobby).

The service will be held on Thursday, May 05, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Gary Webb, Gary Byas, and Autumn Essick officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private at McDowell Memorial Park.
