Lake Lure Ollis

Lake Lure Ollis, age 72, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at his home.

Lake was a native of Avery County and was born on August 31, 1950 to the late Ernest and Ethel Garrison Ollis.

He worked with shrubbery before working in construction later in life. Mr. Ollis was an avid hunter and fisherman who will be remembered for his big heart. He was always willing to help and give to others.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Ollis; son, Bo Ollis; granddaughter, Sydney Nanney; and brother, Larry Ollis.

He is survived by his daughter, Gwen Nanney (Gerald); three grandchildren, Josie Nanney, Lindsey Nanney, and Cayden Nanney; a great granddaughter, Sydara Nanney; and four siblings, Lloyd Ollis (Brenda), Helen Pritchard (Steve), Linda Butler (Paul), and Lora Barrier (Tim Banner).
