Kimberly "Kim" Wright

Kimberly “Kim” Atkins Wright, loving wife, mother and sister, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at her home in Star, North Carolina at the age of 48.  A native of McDowell County, born March 04, 1969, she was the daughter of Rev. Charles and Ruth Atkins of Marion.

A member of Big Oak Church of God in Star, she was the director of the ladies’ ministry. Kim, who was an outstanding cook, was known for the love and compassionate care that she had for others. 

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 26 years, Rev. Darrell Wright, one son, Aaron Wright; one daughter, Lacey Wright; one brother, Richie Atkins (Sheri) and one sister, Sherry Buchanan (Tim).  She is also survived by a special grandson, Brantley Wright and his family. 

A funeral service to honor the life of Miss Kim will be held on Sunday, June 04, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Nealsville Church of God in Marion with Bishop Dennis Pitts officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service, at the church.
