Kevin Douglas Wilson      January 11, 1963 – April 17th, 2025

Kevin Douglas Wilson, 61, of Yancey County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 11, 1963, to Faye Lillie Murphy Wilson and the late Alvin James Wilson, Kevin was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.

Kevin was known far and wide for his incredible skill and dedication in concrete work. Whether it was a small project or a massive undertaking, his craftsmanship spoke volumes. But more than his talent, it was Kevin’s infectious sense of humor and his big heart that left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

He was a family man through and through, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his three beloved children: Joshua Wilson, Dakota Wilson(Kellie Wilson) , and Kasey Wilson(Thomas Helms). His legacy continues through his seven cherished grandchildren: Tanner Wilson, Cameron Wilson, Maddic Wilson, Lyrric Wilson, Harper Beal, Sawyer Helms, and Barrett Teaster.

Kevin is also survived by his loving mother, Faye Lillie Murphy Wilson, and his two devoted sisters, Naomi Stevens(Ronnie Stevens) and Genia Johnson(Matt Johnson) . He had numerous nephews who admired him greatly and always appreciated his wisdom, laughter, and guidance.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin James Wilson, and siblings Ricky Wilson, Eugene Wilson, and Susie Tipton, who now welcome him home.

Kevin’s life was one of hard work, laughter, and deep love. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life that will be posted a later date.
