Kevin Karl Ervin of Forest City, North Carolina, passed away following a brief illness just one day prior to his 60th birthday, Thursday, May 27, 2021, at the SECU Inpatient Unit while under the care of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, North Carolina. Kevin was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and was the son of the late James “Red” Ervin and Mildred Louise Uhrig.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Casey Wright and Arthur Wright; and one sister, Trudy Dowdle.
Kevin was always the life of the party and had played baseball for many years and enjoyed playing golf. Kevin was a dedicated painter for 30 years and had met many friends along the way that loved him.
He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Crotts and her husband, Michael; five grandchildren, Alesha, Blake, Nicholas, Destiny and Megan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mr. Ervin’s life will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Rev. Dale Austin officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
