Kenny Russell Smith

     Kenny Russell Smith, 66, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at his residence.

     Kenny was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on March 19, 1957, to the late Luther Burton Smith and Iva Ruby Buchanan Smith. He was married to his wife of 41 years, Donna Lynn McKinney Smith. Kenny served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a former member of West Court Baptist Church. He was very interested in computers and enjoyed looking at the stars with his telescope. He enjoyed watching western movies and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, Kenny enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his world.

     In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gerald Burleson.

     Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lynn Smith; three children, Matthew Russell Smith, Paul Burton Smith (Shana), and Kayla Lynn Smith; two step children, Natosha Martin (Eric) and Eugene Edwards (Rebecca); two sisters, Jean Burleson and Kathy Smith Jenkins; a grandson, Dylan Smith; a step grandson, Tyler Smith; a step granddaughter, Ashley McCraw; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
