Kenneth R. Parkins

Kenneth R. Parkins, age 66, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville.  A son of the late Henry and Eula Norman Parkins, Kenneth, a native of McDowell County, was born on July 07, 1950.

Mr. Parkins, for over 40 years, was self-employed and took great pride installing flooring for many businesses in and around Western North Carolina.  A member of the Marion Moose Lodge #1705, he received his Pilgrim Degree of the Loyal Order of Moose in 2004.  Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Evans Parkins, who passed away in 2007.

He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Parkins Ward (Kenneth); one son, Michael Parkins (Vicki); and his precious granddaughters, Autumn Ward, Summer, Kendra, and Madison Parkins; all of Marion.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at McDowell Memorial Park.
