Rev. Kenneth Ray Burleson

Rev. Ken “Kimbo” Burleson, age 69 of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at his residence. He was born on July 23, 1953 in Spruce Pine, NC to the late Robert Burleson and Lucille Forbes Burleson. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Rhom Burleson and a brother Robert Burleson Jr.

Ken was an ordained minister who pastored North Cove Baptist Church and later pastored Faith Baptist Church on Hwy 70 East for over thirty years. He enjoyed the outdoors. Some of his many hobbies were coon hunting, riding horses and motorcycles. Ken was known to always be helping others in need. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

His survivors include a son, Robbie Burleson (Brooke); five siblings, Mitzy Hill, Barbara Anderson, Jimmy Burleson (Joyce), Vivian Hall (James) and Phyllis Parker; two granddaughters, Sara Grace Burleson and Caroline Rice; one great grandson Cade Westall.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church on Hwy. 70 East, with the Revs. T-Jay Addison, Jimmy Upton and David Edwards officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at the West Court Baptist Church Cemetery.
