Keesler "Kee" Byrd, Jr.

Keesler “Kee” Charlie Byrd, Jr., 65, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida.

He was born in Iredell County on July 06, 1956 to the late Keesler Charlie Byrd, Sr. and Zelda Mae Webb Byrd.

Kee was the CEO of KC Byrd Electric, a family business which he had been a part of since the age of 12. He was very involved in community activities and organizations such as the McDowell Amateur Radio Club, McDowell Emergency Management Team, and The Red Cross. Kee was a faithful Christian who attended New Manna Baptist Church. He enjoyed rock climbing, camping, and spending time with family, all of whom he loved dearly.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 27 years, Regina Bailey Byrd; three children, Joseph Byrd, Julie Williams (Tion), and Daitra Haug (Jacob); eight grandchildren, Isaac Williams, Jenna Williams, Milena Williams, Delaney Wright, Evan Ingram, Andrew Byrd, Valerie Byrd, and Jayce Byrd; and four siblings, Cindy Hollifield (Harry), Mark Byrd (Lynne), Christine Revis, and Johnathan Byrd.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at New Manna Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service at the church.
