Kathy Faye Poole

Kathy Faye Williams Poole, age 63, of Marion, North Carolina passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Burke Hospice & Palliative Care Center.

Kathy was born June 9, 1955 in McDowell County, NC to the late Joseph James Williams and Ima Jean Patrick Williams.  She attended Going Home Free Will Baptist Church.   Kathy never met a stranger and enjoyed helping others.  She loved spending time with her family and always treated her children and grandchildren with love and care.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Daniel Guffey; one brother, Clyde Williams; and two sisters, Melba Hollifield and Shirley Thomas.

Those left behind to cherish Kathy’s memories are three children, Angela Burleson (David), Darrell Guffey (Shannon) and Travis Guffey (Elizabeth); ten grandchildren, Logan (Taylor), Toby, Alexis, Tahara, Dallen, Caleb, Jeremiah, Michael, Paul and Ethan (Misty); ten great-grandchildren, Ravage, Ivy, Sabrina, Little J, Tristan, Taryn, Chase, E.J., Sierra and Dakota; two brothers, Jerry Williams (Diane) and Joseph Williams; and a special niece, Wanda Martin.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Going Home Free Will Baptist Church.  A funeral service to celebrate Kathy’s life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Jeff Duncan officiating.  Burial will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
