Kathryn "Kathy" Padgham

On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 26, 2020, Kathryn "Kathy" Waitman Padgham, age 82, of Morganton, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. The daughter of the late Orville Waitman and Beda Eglee Waitman Hood, she was born in Bakersfield, California on December 15, 1937.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Padgham, who passed away January 12, 2020; two sisters, Joyce Arnold and Helen Elrod; and one brother, Billy Waitman.

An amazing mother and grandmother, Kathy was a very loving and caring person. She enjoyed making precious memories with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Vess (Randy) of Old Fort, Barbara Gauntey (Tim) of Nebo and Pam Osbon (David) of Morganton; and one stepson, John Padgham (Lisa) of Old Fort. Kathy is also survived by six grandchildren, Mike Vess, Tyler Vess, Kyle Toney, Tyler Gautney, Cory Silvers and Sara Key; a number of great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Living Waters Tabernacle-CGMA in Old Fort with Pastor Keith Jamison officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at the church.
