Katherine Brown

Katherine Crowder Brown, age 78, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, February 05, 2020 at her residence with her loving family at her side.  The daughter of the late Roscoe and Edith Riddle Crowder, she was born in Spruce Pine, North Carolina on June 17, 1941. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Webb; one son, Theodore Dextrel Whitesides; one granddaughter, Kimberly Lynn Letterman; one brother, Jerry Crowder; and two sisters, Josephine McKinney and Lora Crowder.

A member of Eastfield Independent Baptist Church, Katherine enjoyed reading her Bible.  She was known to collect dolls, quilting; and loved to play the piano and sing. 

She is survived by her three children, Sherry Lisa Gay (Michael), Johnathan Keith Whitesides (Tosha Ward) and Robert Lewis (Mary); nine siblings, John Crowder, Ann Carpenter (Max), Shirley Hollifield (Guy), Danny Crowder (Sharon), Teddy Crowder, Linda Styles (Kenny), Sara Melton (Ricky), Roscoe Crowder and Bonnie Cable; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 08, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Redeemed Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry McClain officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
