Justin Mark Olinger, age 16, of Asheville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, NC, born August 31, 1999, he was the son of Mark and Barbara Flynn Olinger of Asheville.
A loving son, brother, nephew and friend, Justin enjoyed attending the Progressive Education Program (PEP) in Asheville. In his spare time, he loved to swim and listening to bluegrass music.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Jarrett Olinger; aunts and uncles, Allen Olinger, Melissa Marlowe, Bryan Olinger, Belinda Fitzgerald, Cella Taylor and Michael Flynn; and a number of cousins. Justin is also survived by many friends from PEP.
A celebration to honor the life of Justin will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Black Mountain with Rev. Brandon Flynn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
Flowers are acceptable and appreciated. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Justin's memory are asked to consider, Progressive Education Program, 250-A Overlook Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Peter Chu and staff at ABC Pediatrics of Asheville for the care and support giving to them during Justin’s illness.
