June Perry, age 82, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at her residence with her loving family by her side. The daughter of the late George Washington Snyder and Jessie Dillon Snyder, she was born in Jackson County, West Virginia on July 25, 1934.
Having been married for 65 years, June and her husband, James, who had served in the military, traveled all over the world. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a member of Sunny View Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James K. Perry of the home; six children, Karen Sue Heller (Terry) of the home, James K. Perry, Jr. (Carol) of Wedowee, Alabama, John Perry of Old Fort, North Carolina, George Perry (Debbie) of Ravenswood, West Virginia, Larry Perry of Old Fort, North Carolina and Bob Perry of Ravenswood, West Virginia; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Sunny View Freewill Baptist Church in Old Fort with Revs. Nathan Wheeler, Ben Cope and Vincent White officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the church.
A graveside committal will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
