Julie Turpin

Julie Turpin, age 15, of Morganton, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. She was born on September 27, 2001 and was the beautiful daughter of James Turpin of Morganton and Sharon Salsitz Turpin of Arden.

Julie was a member of drama and honors chorus at Robert L. Patton High School. She loved music and singing. She also enjoyed going to the lake and tubing. Julie loved her three German shepherd dogs and her three cats.

In addition to her parents, she leaves behind to cherish her memory, her step-mother, Teresa Turpin; one step-brother Caleb Lane; paternal grandmother, Mary Effler; and maternal grandparents, Ben and Barbara Salsitz. Also surviving Julie are a special “squad” of friends from Patton High School and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Miss Julie’s life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Pastor Tim Lolley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

A memorial service will also be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the gymnasium of Robert L. Patton High School, 701 Enola Road, Morganton, North Carolina.
