Judy Priscilla Calloway Howie

Judy Priscilla Calloway Howie, 71, of Old Fort, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 13, 2024.

She was born in McDowell County on May 20, 1952 to the late Johnny Wilson and Mary Margaret Calloway Penland. 

Judy worked in the furniture industry for most of her life. She was employed by both Ethan Allen and Broyhill. She will be remembered as a wonderful Christian lady who was wholly devoted to prayer, reading her Bible, and shouting praises to the Lord! She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Paul “Buttons” Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kevin Filip Howie; two daughters, Melissa Wilson and Natasha Penland; seven grandchildren, Whitney Penland, Blake Russell, Justin Bartlett, Cody Penland, Austin Penland, Andrew Suppes, and Aleea Patton; and one great-grandchild, Taylor Russell.

The family will hold a memorial service at Refuge Baptist Church at a later date.
