Judy McEntire Eck, age 79, loving wife, mother and grandmother, made that wonderful cross over into Heaven in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 20, 2021 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville, North Carolina. A resident of Old Fort, North Carolina, Judy was born in McDowell County on June 26, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Leroy and Alma Creasman McEntire.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Alan Eck; and two brothers, Phillip McEntire and Billy McEntire.
Having had a special place in her heart for children, Judy, following 34 years, retired as a teacher’s assistant at Old Fort Elementary School. Judy grew up on a farm and enjoyed spending time with the farm animals. An avid flower gardener, she also was a collector of chicken figurines, but she truly loved her family, children and grandchildren immensely.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her loving husband of 58 years, Clyde Eck, Sr.; one son, Clyde “Chuck” Henry Eck, Jr.; and one daughter, Helen Grace Eck; four wonderful grandchildren, Ciara Buchanan (Tyler), Montana Eck, Cody Eck (Chelsie) and Jennifer Fowler (Jason); and ten great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Cherry Springs Memorial Park in Old Fort with Mr. Kenny Schultz officiating.
