Joyce Moore

 Joyce “Joy” Ann Williams Moore, 85, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her residence.

 Joy was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 28, 1939, to the late Nora Seal Williams and Alvin Williams. She was married to the late Billy Moore, Sr., her husband of forty-one years. For several years, Joy worked with the administrative staff at General Motors Company. She was of Baptist faith and was the kind of lady who never knew a stranger. She enjoyed plants and butterflies, but had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially cats. Joy was also known to have a backyard full of racoons. She loved rock & roll and country music, but most of all, she deeply loved her family. Joy will always be loved and remembered, fondly. 

 In addition to her husband and parents, Joy was preceded in death by her twin brother, Royce Williams; and three sisters, Glenda, Irene, and Juanita.

 Those left to cherish her memory include her life partner, MacArthur Garner; four children, Trina Davis-Nesterowich, Rhonda Reeves, Robbie Austin, and Billy Moore, Jr.; nine grandchildren, Danielle Dromerhauser & husband Richard, Brandon Teyechea & wife Amanda, Ryan Teyechea, Kayla Reeves and Savannah Reeves – Alora Moore, Natalie Moore & Zachary Moore; five great grandchildren, Rylee Dromerhauser, Madilyn Teyechea, Maverick Teyechea, and Lucas Austin.

 In accordance with Joy’s wishes, her body was donated for the advancement of medical science. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025, at Hope Presbyterian Church in Memphis. Rev. Hannah Attaway will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.
