Joyce Irene Lail

Joyce Irene Lail, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her residence on the night of Monday, September 04, 2017 with her loving family by her side.  The daughter of the late Mack and Ethel Hill Lail, Joyce had just celebrated her 78th birthday on August 27th. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Gene Reel; and her second husband, Willie Dean Harding.

A loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Joyce, for several years, worked at Drexel Heritage and at Continental Teves, from where she retired.  Never a dull moment, Miss Joyce enjoyed doing sudoku puzzles, square dancing, playing bingo, bowling, watching and calling in her vote for “Dancing with the Stars”; but most of all, spending time with her grandbabies.  A member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, she also attended Sugar Hill Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memories are two sons, Billy Mack Reel (Shelia) and Robert “Bobby” Glenn Reel (Diana); one daughter, Tracy Lynn Harding (Mollie); five grandchildren, Jessica Reel Mace (Nathan), Joshua Robert Reel (Casey), Justin Karl Reel, Mitchell Dean Gilliam (Brandi) and Michael Gilliam (Rachel); and eight great grandchildren, Gabrielle Smith, Jonathan Parsons, Marayla Lee Parker, Hayden Michael Reel, Cooper Eli Mace, MaKinly Lynn Gilliam, Luke Rayland Mace and Mylah Jean Gilliam. 

A service to honor the life of Miss Joyce will be held on Friday, September 08, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Revs. Michael Robinson and Bill Mitchell officiating.  Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service, at the funeral home.
