Joyce Evelyn Phillips Cable

Joyce Evelyn Phillips Cable, age 77, passed away on October 11, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Hugh Adolphus and Eva Aldridge Phillips.

She loved everyone and never met a stranger. She always took care of and put others before herself. Joyce enjoyed quilting and sewing; but, mostly spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earl Cable; her siblings, Junior Phillips, Walter Phillips and Helen Gattis and a great granddaughter, Jewel Dunn.

Left to cherish her memory is her fiancée, Norman Stevens; two children, Rita Lynn Hall and Charles Daniel Cable; one sister, Willie Tarleton; three grandchildren, Evita Lyttle, Shasta Dunn (Josh) and Rebecca Strickland and eight great grandchildren, Kristina, Heaven, Isabella, Journi, Katie, Rayne, Luke and Rose.

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Catawba Heights Baptist Church, with Larry Gentry and James Walker officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
