Joshua Peter Maier

Joshua Peter Maier, age 25, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Joshua was born to Thomas and Colleen Maier of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Joshua was a United States Marine Corps reservist where he served as a cyber network specialist. He recently received the Meritorious Mast award while on deployment in Latvia. Joshua was fun loving with an adventurous spirit and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was pursuing a degree in computer science.

In addition to his parents, Joshua is survived by his wife Bridgette Dale of Marion, North Carolina, and one sister, Rebekah Maier of Charlotte, North Carolina. Also surviving Joshua are his maternal grandparents, Lester and Roberta Kear of Peekskill, New York, and his paternal grandparents, Kathryn Maier of Reading, Pennsylvania and Walter Maier also of Reading, Pennsylvania.

A funeral service honoring the life of Joshua will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church in Marion, North Carolina with Pastor Berk Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with military honors will take place following the service at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Gastonia, North Carolina.
