Joseph "Rick" Schism

Joseph Richard “Rick” Schism, age 38, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.  Born in Tucson, Arizona on January 09, 1978, he was the son of Jim and Teresa Leslie Schism. 

Known for his witty sense of humor, Rick had a passion for hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles.  A man who dearly loved his family, he is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Joe Leslie; and paternal grandparents, Jim and June Schism.

Rick is survived by, in addition to his parents, three children, Joseph Dylan Schism, Asher Blaise Schism and Paisley Raine Schism; maternal grandmother, Gay Dalton Leslie; one sister, Holly Schism and niece, Kennedy Arrowood.

A celebration of life with be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Garden Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Morrison officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
