Johnathan Ray Jones

On Friday, July 30, 2021 Johnathan Ray Jones passed away at the age of 45. John was born on February 22nd, 1976 in Asheville, NC to Sandra Jones Beaver.

He was a member of the class of 1994 at Asheville High School. His participation in ROTC and football has kept him in the hearts of many of his classmates to this day. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. In his youth, John enjoyed fishing and camping, riding dirt bikes, playing video games, and working out. He was an avid writer of poetry and made a difference in many people’s lives.

John was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Hazel Elizabeth “Libby” Ramsey, his grandfather, Don Ray Ramsey, and his grandfather, Arnold Jones.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra Beaver, his brother James Beaver, a niece Trinity Beaver, two nephews, Gavin and Joseph Beaver, his grandmother Mary Sue Jones, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Jones officiating.
