Mike Williams

Mr. John Micheal “Mike” Williams age 82, of Marion, NC, passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at his residence. He was the son of the late Thomas “Roy” Williams and Sarah Mae Proctor Williams. Mike was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Barlowe Williams and his son, Craig Williams.

Mike was the owner and operator of B&W Enterprises, a long-distance trucking company, for many years. Later, he was employed by Roy Lane Logging as a local truck driver and worked there for 17 years until retirement.

He enjoyed watching baseball (Atlanta Braves) and football games and he especially enjoyed attending and participating in car shows with multiple classic cars that he owned. He was a member and deacon of the First Christian Church of Marion, and also the Mystic Tie Lodge 237 of Marion.

Mike is survived by his three children; Chris Williams (Tanya), Darby Williams and Cliff Williams (Susan); six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many close friends and neighbors that were like family to him, most of whom met each day at Sharons Cafe.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Marion 1709 Rutherford Rd. Marion NC 28752 with the Reverend Don Mitchell officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Marion.
