John Richardson Thomas

John Richardson Thomas, age 54, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, July 27th, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. while at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born June 06, 1966, he was the son of the late Leroy and Sadie Boyce Thomas.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Francinia Thomas Carson.

John was known as being a hard worker and enjoyed working outdoors.  Always helping others before himself, John loved his canine companion, “Fuzzy”.

He is survived by two brothers, Wayne Thomas and Jay Thomas; many nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Detra Hooper.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, July 30th, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff of CarePartners Hospice Solace Center for the extraordinary care that they provided John and his family in his final days.
