John Carter Searcy

John Carter Searcy, 59, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 while at Mission Hospital McDowell.

John was born in Burke County on November 23, 1963 to Ruth Randolph Fortune and the late Max Fortune. John loved the Lord, and he enjoyed worshipping in music. He loved everyone he met and never forgot a face. His special friends include Mike, Terry, Hogan, Katie, and Kearston. He will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers and sisters, Joey Fortune, Eddie Johnson, Roger Fortune, J.J. Fortune, Jeannie Branch, Robbie McDaniel, Susie Laws, along with many other foster brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at McDowell Memorial Park with Pastor Dennis Hensley officiating.
