John Steven Phillips

John Steven Phillips, age 63, of Morganton, NC passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation in Spruce Pine, NC.

Mr. Phillips was born March 10, 1954 in Burke County, NC to Jacqueline Doris Willis Webb of Morganton, NC and to the late Melvin Eugene Phillips.  He was a free spirit and loved to dance.  Even at times when he didn’t have music, he would tap something out.  He would dance anytime and anywhere.

In addition to his mother, left behind to cherish his memories are two children, Emma Brown and husband, Jeremiah and Caine Phillips; two grandchildren, Micah and Kerwynn Brown; his step-father, Bruce Webb; and three sisters, Gail Gibson and husband, David, Kathy Phillips and Penny Phillips.

In keeping with Mr. Phillips’ wishes no services will be held.  Memorialization will be by cremation.
