John "Bobby" Robert Gaddy, Jr.

John “Bobby” Gaddy, Jr., age 75, of Marion, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his residence with his loving family by his side. A native of McDowell County, Bobby was born on December 18, 1942 to the late John Gaddy, Sr. and Vada McKinney Gaddy.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Gaddy Clark and a brother, Jerry Gaddy.

Bobby was a long-time member of Providence United Methodist Church. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and formally a North Carolina Wildlife officer. In 1973 he became co-owner of the Harvest Drive-In Restaurant. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but mostly he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Sue Long Gaddy; three children, Robert Lynn Gaddy (Pamela), Martin Lee Gaddy and Michael Wayne Gaddy; five siblings, Mack Gaddy (Elaine), Judi Dalton, Joy Keaton (Ralph), Kay Gouge (Roger) and Danny Gaddy (Robyn). Also surviving Bobby are seven grandchildren, Ashley Toler (Jeremy), Daniel Lynn Gaddy, Jamie Collins, Jeremy Gaddy, Zachary Gaddy, Melody Gaddy, Dillon Gaddy and Haven Gaddy; three great-grandchildren, Danica Gaddy, Makenzie Toler and Ayden Toler and also a special aunt, Patsy Padgett.

A funeral service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Reverend Michael Harrill        officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors provided by the United States Army will take place at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
