John Evans Barr

     John Evans Barr, 67, of Marion, passed away, Monday, May 13, 2024, at Mission McDowell Hospital.

     John was born in Neeses, SC on December 5, 1956, to the late John G. Barr and Mary Emmaline Hoover Barr. He was married to Shirley Barr, who passed away in March of 2015. John was an excellent mechanic who loved the mountains. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter. He will be greatly missed. 

     He is survived by three children, Barbara Barr, John Barr, and Kelly Wall; two sisters, Ellen Barr and Teresa Jolley; a brother, Tony Barr; and six grandchildren, Brooklyn Mosteller, Daniel Mosteller, John Mosteller, Chance Ferguson, Aryan Gibson, and Shirleyann Gibson.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date.
