John Troy Bailey

On the evening of Friday, April 26, 2019, while surrounded by his love ones, Troy Bailey, age 77, of Forest City, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord. Troy was born on October 21, 1941 to the late Grady and Evelyn Massey Bailey.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Irene Taylor.

Troy was known as a very religious man. He loved woodworking, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed reading western stories and watching the Carolina Tarheels and Carolina Panthers play ball. He also cared for his little canine companion “Tifa”.

Troy is survived by two children, Karen B. Rogers and Tonya B. Pittman (Ronnie); siblings, Earl Bailey (Ruthann), Joann Bailey, Zane Bailey, Barbara Loftis (Richard), Joyce B. Morgan, Ronnie Bailey and Ricky Bailey (Becky). Also surviving Troy are five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Reverend Barry Gouge officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cherry Springs Memorial Park in Old Fort. The family will receive from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
