Jo-Ann Waters Seagle

Jo-Ann Waters Seagle, 86, of Marion, passed away Sunday evening, November 5, 2023 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center.

She was born in Rutherford County on July 4, 1937 to the late J.D. Waters and Leila Rash Waters. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garland Ray “Sonny” Seagle; and her oldest son, Michael Ray Seagle.

Jo-Ann was a faithful member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her church family and enjoyed singing whether it was in the choir or by herself. Each member of her family was special to her, and she loved them wholeheartedly. She spent most of her life working in textiles. Jo-Ann will be remembered for her love of Reese’s Cups and Pepsi, which she had each night before bed for many years.

She is survived by two children, Michele Padgett (James) and Andrew Seagle (Misty); seven grandchildren, Kelly Padgett, Keshia Reed, Brittany Elasik, Daniel Padgett, Madisen Seagle, Laney Seagle, and Belle Seagle; her great grandchildren, Tyler Reed, Makenzie Reed, Cameron Reed, Dawson Reed, Christian Sawyer, Gunner Padgett, Dawson Padgett, and one on the way; and four great-great grandchildren, Chloe Reed, Bentley Roberts, Oliver Reed, and Paislee Roberts.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Harold Webb and Jerry McClain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
