On the morning of Friday, November 30, 2018 while surrounded by his loved ones, Mr. Jimmy Edwards, age 59, passed away at his residence in Marion following a brief illness. A native of McDowell County, born March 3, 1959, he was the son of the late Barbara Mace Clark and Wayne Clark of Marion.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Becky Smith.
An avid golfer and talented woodworker, Jimmy will be remembered most for his love of a good joke. It filled his heart to see others laughing, but most of all the good times, Jimmy loved spending time with his family the most.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kay Swift Edwards; one daughter, Crystal Edwards; one son, Aaron Edwards; three grandchildren, Kaylee, Kathryn and Klaxton; three brothers, Paul Edwards, Wayne Clark and Tim Clark; and one sister, Jeanie Worley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and his special canine buddy, “George”, who was also by his side.
A service to celebrate the life of Jimmy will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Don Mitchell and Rev. Travis Cooke officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Independent Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Those wishing to make a memorial donation in his memory are asked to consider a substance abuse awareness program of one’s choice.
