Jimmy Darrell Best

     Jimmy Darrell Best, 71, of Marion, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at Mission McDowell Hospital.

     Jimmy was born in Clearwater, West Virginia on May 23, 1953, to the late Ora Belle Brooks and Billy Best. Jimmy worked at P&R Produce in Marion, where he interacted with many customers over the years. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved fishing and gardening. Jimmy was a loving brother and uncle who never met a stranger. He will always be loved and remembered. 

     He is survived by two sisters, Lisa Hunt and Paula Gilliland; a brother, Kenneth Best (Mary Anne); three nieces, Christina Bill (Sean), Shannon Best, and Brittany Branch; a nephew, Nehemiah Woody; and two great nieces, Emily & Anna Bill.

     A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Scotty Stacey will officiate. Burial will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ Cemetery in Newland. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
