Jimmie Lewis Condrey

Jimmie Lewis Condrey, 79, of Marion, passed away surrounded by the ones he loved, Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Jimmie was born in McDowell County, on August 20, 1942 to the late James William Condrey and the late Edna Viola Finley Condrey. Jim had a love of the outdoors. Over the years he enjoyed hunting and fishing but nothing surpassed his love of coon hunting. He loved his boys, grands and greats most of all.

As a young man he played baseball and basketball for Glenwood High School. Later in life he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Duke Blue Devils basketball. Jim also worked and took great pride in his gardening and lawn care. He cultivated Muscadine grapes, blueberries and vegetables which he shared with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, John and Margaret McFadden and nephews Jake Simmons and Jared McFadden.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Susan McFadden Condrey; sons, William “Bill” Condrey (Iris) and Jonas Condrey (Angi); grandchildren, Kendra Burns (Chris), Cheyanne Condrey, Bailey Condrey, Emma Shelton (Doug), Adam Condrey and Anna Condrey; greats, Linsey, Brianna, Skyler Burns, Jace Condrey, Jamie, Eliza Shelton and Leona Condrey; Sisters, Susie Condrey and Melinda Simmons (Richard); sisters-in-law, Rose Mary Blankenship, Angie Collier (Jeff) and Bobby Fensterer (Bill); Brother-in-law John McFadden (Rhonda). Jim is also survived by a large extended family, “too many to name and to put a number on it would be a shame”.

The family will receive friends, Monday, February 21, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
