Jimmey Cleophas Early took his journey to his heavenly home on Friday, December 28, 2018. He was born to Willie and Utha Early on February 05, 1942.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Bartlett.
During his years of employment, Jim worked at Old Fort Finishing, Air Preheater Co., and Crane Resistoflex. After retirement he enjoyed working at Marion Elementary School and Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church. He was also a member of Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church. Jim was an avid collector and liked visiting flea markets and outdoor sales.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Martha Shirlen Early; daughter, Leah Pyatt and husband, Shannon, who were both very special to him; and one of his greatest joys was his granddaughter, Maggie Effler. They spent many hours together, and one of his most precious fulfillments was being her “Poppie”. Jim was also survived by two step grandchildren, Maleia Pyatt and Shannon Pyatt, Jr.; and his sister, Anita Robertson, who was also dearly loved.
The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army.
