Jewel Johnson

May 13, 1938 — July 9, 2019

 

Jewel Toney Johnson, age 81, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 09, 2019 at Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio with her loving family by her side.  Born in McDowell County, North Carolina on May 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Patterson Toney. 

 

She was preceded in death by, in addition to her parents, her husband, Frank Lee Johnson, who passed away on June 02, 2019.

 

Jewel enjoyed traveling with her family; and in her spare time, she loved tending to her flower garden.  A member of Glenwood Independent Baptist Church in Marion, she truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. 

 

Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Kathy Alexander (Chip); one son, Van Johnson (Lee-Raye), one sister, Margie Adkins; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Rev. T-Jay Addison officiating.  Interment will follow at Glenwood Independent Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
