Ruth Weiler

Ruth Weiler, 91, of Marion, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Autumn Care in Marion. Ruth was one of 8 children, born in Yancey County, August 06, 1931, to the late Jessie and Geneva McPeters.

Ruth supported her husband, Johnny Weiler, during his career as an owner-driver. She managed the books, dispatched loads, and looked after the family during his long career. After Johnny left his position due to poor health she took care of him in their home for ten years; she was a true caregiver.  Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She adored her children and grandchildren who were very dear to her.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John Weiler; son, Steven Weiler; and several siblings.

Those left behind to cherish Ruth’s memory are her daughter, Susan McGinn (Wayne) of Marion; son, Alan Weiler (Joan) of Morganton; daughter-in-law, Becky Weiler; sisters, Dorothy Autrey & Carolyn Boles; brother, Gerald McPeters (Gayla); four grandchildren, Matt Weiler (Sage) of Seattle, WA, Nick Weiler (Lexi) of Marion, Mac McGinn (Erin) of Charlotte, and Meghan Sadler (Chris) of Raleigh; five great grandchildren, Molly, Harper, Hudson, Lawson, and Sloane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Chris Clayton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff, CNA's, Nurses, and PA's at Autumn Care that took such good care of Ruth during her final years.
