Jessie Lynn Sneed

Jessie Harrison Sneed, age 82, of the North Cove community passed away into the arms of her loving Savior Monday, September 26, 2016 with her family by her side. Born in Mitchell County, North Carolina on November 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Ora Turbyfill Harrison.

Mrs. Sneed was a member of the Hefner Memorial Baptist Church for over 51 years. Known as a wonderful cook, Jessie once authored a very successful cook book “Mrs. Jessie’s Mountain Recipes”. She loved her family more than anyone other than her Lord. Jessie will be truly missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Sneed is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Joseph Sneed; her three children, Robin Revis (Wiley), Eddie Sneed and Patty Hudgins (Johnny); also surviving Mrs. Sneed are five grandchildren; Jason Sneed (Amy), Matt Revis, Brooke Hudgins (Josh), Ashley Blake, Bethany Hensley (Preston) and six great-grandchildren Myles, Sarayah, Jonah, Syrus, Peyton and Jackson; special friends Jon Jenkins, Mary Aldridge and Zelda Branch also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday September 29, 2016 at 5:00 p.m at New Manna Baptist Church in Marion with the Revs. Tony Parker, David Edwards, Charley Bradley and Matt McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the Ashford Community Cemetery.
