Jerry Alan Reel, Sr.

Jerry Alan Reel, Sr., 69, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at Autumn Care of Marion.

He was born in Richmond, Virginia on October 28, 1951 to the late Guy and Ruby Gentry Reel.

Jerry honorably served in the United States Army. He was a hard worker. Having known to be good with his hands, he worked in the furniture industry and also built homes. Jerry was a lifetime member of Glenwood Independent Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He would do anything for anybody and was well loved by all. Jerry loved all his family and friends, especially his grandbabies.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jerry Reel, Jr.; four grandchildren, Timberland, Gavin, Jordan, and Ryder; and three brothers, Charles, Ernie, and Jimmy Reel.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Carolyn Toney Reel; two children, Christy Garcia and James Reel (Harley); seven grandchildren, Caitlin, Shane, Nevaeh, Xavier, Ryleigh, Kaylee, and Daniel; one great grandchild, Cali; and two sisters, Patricia Martin (Roy) and Brenda Martin.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Glenwood Independent Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00, one hour prior to the service at the church.
