Jerry Benjamine Pritchard

Jerry Benjamine Pritchard, 76, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation.

He was born in Burke County on August 24, 1944 to the late Paul C. Pritchard and Bessie Williams Pritchard.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he loved the Lord and served Him daily. Jerry was a member of Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church where he served in multiple capacities. A caring and generous man, Jerry served as a sergeant for 6 years in the Army National Guard.

He was a former co-owner of B&P Tax Service and the McDowell House. Later, he was the owner of Blue Ridge Tax Service. Jerry enjoyed golfing and working on his cattle farm in the Sugar Hill Community.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Penland Pritchard; a daughter, Gina Pritchard; five brothers; one sister; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn Smith Pritchard; a daughter, Melody Pritchard Burnette (Henry); three step children, Tony Creson (LeighAnn), Mitchell Creson (Robin), and Evan Creson (Ana Karina); six grandchildren, Aurora Burnette, H.G. Burnette, Dafney Creson, Anabella Creson, Mattie Creson, and Sadie Creson; a sister, Betty Stewart; a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, David Pritchard; and special friends, John and Margaret Morrison.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Alan Sailors officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.
