Mr. Jerry Don Parker, age 59 of Morganton, departed to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 04, 2020, at Autumn Care of Drexel with his loving family by his side. The son of Joyce Parker of Nebo, and the late Clesser Don Parker, he was born in McDowell County on September 10, 1960.
A loving husband, son, brother and uncle, Jerry enjoyed working on model cars and fishing. He loved to attend tractor pulls and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish Jerry’s precious memories, in addition to his mother Joyce, are his wife Amy Parker; two Sisters Gail Durkee (Mike), and Donna Cable (Tim); Nephews Wayne Durkee (Clorissa), Earl Durkee (Stephanie), Jonathan Cable (Beth); a Niece, Dawn Buchanan (Eugene); Great Nephews, Cody Durkee, Deven Buchanan, Raylyn Cable, River Cable, Nehemiah Hollifield; Great Nieces, Cheyenne Buchanan, Riley Cable, Brittany Smith (Kevin), Bethany Hollifield (Joshua), Adisyn Smith, Khloe Smith, Cora-Ruth Hollifield. He also leaves behind two special friends, Brenda Brown and Roy Hyatt.
A funeral service to celebrate the life will be held on Thursday, January 09, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with the Reverend Jonathan Cable officiating. Interment will follow the service at Solid Rock Mission Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 08, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Beam Funeral Service.
